I walked into Magic Kingdom and was overcome with joy. It was like I was a kid again and I was at the best place on earth. And to think, I almost didn’t go because I didn’t have anyone to go with.
I was going to Orlando, Florida for a work conference. My hotel was only 10 minutes from the Parks, but I didn’t think I’d be able to experience any of the magic. I had texted all of my friends to see if any of them wanted to go with me, but no one was free. So I thought, oh well it’s not like I can go to the Parks by myself. What would I even do walking around alone?

Fast forward to day two of the conference and I realized I would be the biggest idiot for not going to see my favorite Princesses when I was only 10 minutes away from them. So I did what any adult would do – I skipped the keynote speaker and went to Magic Kingdom for an unforgettable experience. If you’re considering going to Disney World by yourself, then here are the Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- You can ride whatever ride you want, and do whatever you want, without having to consider what the rest of your group wants to do.
- Eat what you want, where you want, when you want
- Stay at the park all day, or leave in an hour. Again, do WHATEVER you want.
Cons:
- It gets lonely – it’s a magical place and you have no one to share it with.
- Literally no one to talk to.
- You have to ask random strangers to take pictures of you.

So, the Cons made me realize that I wouldn’t want to go alone again because Disney World is magical and I want to enjoy it with friends and family. I also hate asking random people to take pictures of me, but it was fine. You can always find nice people – or staff – that can take a picture for you. One girl took awesome pictures for me, she was taking them from different angles and everything. I need that girl in my travel squad.
All in all, I would rather go to Disney World alone than to not go at all, but I definitely want to plan a trip with friends soon. I’m also the type of person that doesn’t like to go to places alone, so this was a pretty big step for me.
My favorite part? The Happily Ever After Fireworks show at Magic Kingdom. It’s such an amazing fireworks and lights show, I didn’t cry at all while I saw my childhood favorites come to life OK??
Have you been to Disney World? What was your favorite thing to do?
