Rating: 3/5
Actors: Noah Centineo, Camila Mendes, Laura Marano, Odiseas Georgiadis and more.
Netflix does it again with another original movie starring Noah Centineo. That’s three rom-coms in the last year featuring the guy who replaced Jake T. Austin in The Fosters – and I’m not even mad about it.
Centineo plays a charming and sweet guy who is completely relatable and swoon-worthy. He is a great actor and plays the part of caring and friendly guy so well. Honestly, I would watch any movie starring him because he’s just THAT good.
Laura Marano plays the rebellious protagonist who doesn’t conform for anyone. I loved when she refused to wear heels to her high school dance, because yes girl I hate them too.
This movie perfectly depicts the struggle that all high school students face: figuring out who they are and what they’re meant to be. We all envy the “cool” kids and try so hard to be like them, but eventually realize that their lives aren’t all that great.
Although, the storyline and acting are great I did get a major sense of deja vu as I watched it. Maybe I’ve just watched too many coming of age movies recently. Maybe I’ve watched too many starring Noah Centineo…ok that’s not possible but overall, it’s a great feel-good movie and I definitely recommend watching it.
